I run both VMware GSX and ESX servers.
It should be noted that though asterisk runs under VMware, none of Digim's cards (or any other telephony cards) are available inside VMwares's virtual machines.
It's just my opinion, but I don't think MS's virtual products currently conpare to GSX and ESX servers. Perhaps in the future ....
BTW: MS uses vmware inhouse :-)

Does MS Virtual server support running linux? Thought you could only run windows on it?
Vmware's server products are apparently very good. Their Workstation product is really good, and has seamless support for many different OS's. We have used it here for almost two years now and its been invaluable for testing and development.

Yes Sam, you can run just about any OS (except osX) in vmware, great to testing distros... incidentally, you can host virtual machines in both windows or linux. (meaning you can setup vmware on either platform and then run any OS you choose on that platform)
