I am running it statefull because else I would have to open port 5060 on
my cisco AS5400's to the world, and that's too insecure

If you have it running stateless (is there another way?), there's hardly
any impact at all. Just a window of a few seconds where a call cannot be

Why are you running in statefull mode?

Maybe you're the issue? :-))

A combo of SER and Asterisk is pretty powerfull IMHO.
