Not divergent - CONvergent. That's what's so cool about Asterisk - it's ability to actually, truly, honestly deliver on the promise of convergence that the telecom industry has so far been unable to deliver. Using it in this way is a perfect example of the revolutionary potential of this stuff, so I'd say this is not only relevant, but in fact highly appropriate.
