Hello List.
New to asterisk, and am glad to see such a great community
here. I am
looking forward to meeting fellow asterisk users.
I can barely call myself an asterisk user, as I have only been using
it for a
month or so now. I have bought a couple iaxys. Shipped one off to the
brother-in-law in Sydney, and the other to mother-in-law in Richmond
Hill, and now I am the hero of the family!
I am interested in hearing about AGI programming. I've got weather
forecasts going through festival, am parsing toronto.com to give me
upcoming showtimes at the Paramount movie theatre. What isn't
clear to me is how to pass things into asterisk.
Let's say I have an application that is monitoring a database, and in
the
event of a failure, the application can execute a user defined action.
So, say I can get some text message to my asterisk box.
I'd like to have asterisk call me, and read me the contents of that
message, but I have yet to find examples of such, or any documentation.
Can anyone point me in the right direction?
What is this called? Event driven callout?
Thanks in advance,
