I had the same problem, unfortunately (for you) this was my first install of
asterisk.  I was using 2.0 beta 4 and tried to setup a voipjet connection.

I am certain my firewall was setup correctly which was later confirmed when
I reinstalled asterisk using the 2.2 release.  When I manually setup my
trunk again, everything was working.
