Hi all, a show and tell sounds like fun..... a sort of antiques road
show for us "Riskers"
If we list here what we can bring to the show we can very quickly see if
there is enough hardware
out there to make it worth while. I can bring a Grandstream GXP2000 and
a white Budgetone 101
On another matter, does anyone have the definitive list of features
and codes for *, and does anyone out there
have experience of building new features ect. It would be nice to toggle
features on and off using the same feature code
Could this be the topic for a future meeting ?
Have a better one.......

That sounds interesting. I like the idea personally. I found that
once people started talking, they would share what they know. If a
few regulars got things kicked off, I'm sure we could get people to do
a 5 minute (or whatever) presentation. All we need is an egg timer
and we're set!
I mentioned to Henry the idea of a "show and tell" kind of night.
I've got some hardware kicking around that I'm sure lots of people
don't get to play with. Similarly I've never seen alot of the ATAs
out there. I'd bring in a little asterisk box, my polycom, cisco,
WIFI and other phones to give people a chance to see and touch them.
Make and take calls etc. Maybe other people would bring some stuff
too. Without getting too commercial, maybe there's a chance for a
swap-n-sell meet. I've got hardware (like a Cisco 7912) that I know
I'm never going to get around to playing with. I've got a budgetone
101 somewhere, and some other stuff. Maybe some new user would like
to pick that up for a reasonable price. I've also got some surplus
digium quad span cards that I need to unload from a project that was
cancelled, but that's another matter.
I like the idea, in general, of having more than 1 topic and more than
one speaker in an evening. Bite of smaller topics than "the dialplan"
and let some people make a mini presentation. This leads us back to
your idea of a lightning talk.
I'm a little sleep deprived right now but I'll keep you posted on some
other ideas. There was a guy from the Kitchener Linux group who made
some suggestions, I can't remember his name but he made a few points
during my shameless attempt to recruit more speakers. He may have
some ideas about different formats these meetings can take.

Good morning guys,
What were some of your ideas for future meetings?
I'd like to do what's known as a "lightning talk" for one, where you'd
have N minutes of time to talk about your topic, and then we're on to
the next person.
Cheers,
Simon

Very good... I didn't know much about the dial plan but I know more now !
Dave is a cool guy and his presentation was pretty good.
Talking to him after the presentation we came up with a few ideas for
future meetings
