[EMAIL PROTECTED] 2.2 CentOS
Installed from scratch using the ISO image.

With the release of 2.4 it sounds like I should upgrade (for bug fixes).
I have never done this before, so I just wanted to verify the process.

I found this posting
(http://forums.whirlpool.net.au/forum-replies-archive.cfm/448383.html):

there is normally a non ISO version available. You normally just untar it
and run the install.
I can access the site at the moment, asteriskathome.SourceForge.net
Just remember to backup your config in ./etc/asterisk directory.

So I downloaded the 48M tarball, but I wanted to verify with this group if
it is really as simple as untarring and running make. I am quite a newbie
to this, so I am not sure really what directory to untar into.

These simple command I suspect would do it:
make
make install

Will this overwrite my config files if I have done everything via the AMP
interface? I am hoping it doesn't.

TIA,
Dave
