Hi David, In [EMAIL PROTECTED], Asterisk is controlled by the "amportal" script, which is launched at startup from the /etc/rc.local script. If you comment out that line there, it will not start automatically upon startup.
To stop it if it's already running and going crazy, first try: # amportal stop If that doesn't work, you can get a bit more agressive: # amportal kill See also: # /usr/sbin/amportal ----------AMP Control Script----------- Usage: amportal start|stop|kill|chown start: Starts Asterisk and Flash Operator Panel server stop: Gracefully stops Asterisk and the FOP server restart: Stop and Starts kill: Kills Asterisk and the FOP server chown: Sets appropriate permissions on files On 2/3/06, David Fishburn <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> wrote: > > [EMAIL PROTECTED] 2.4 > > When I attempted my upgrade it looks like zaptel is failing to start. > So Asterisk starts, dies and restarts. > > "Automatically restarting Asterisk. > Asterisk ended with exit status 1 > Asterisk died with code 1. > Automatically restarting Asterisk..." > > I am in this loop now. > How do you shutdown asterisk so it will not restart? > > I have googled around, but I am not much of a Linux person. > > chkconfig --list > > Doesn't really list anything like "asterisk", there is zaptel, but that is > the only asterisk like entry. > > I tried changing the runlevel to 1 and 2, but it still constantly restarts. > > TIA, > Dave > > > --------------------------------------------------------------------- > To unsubscribe, e-mail: [EMAIL PROTECTED] > For additional commands, e-mail: [EMAIL PROTECTED] > >
