It's about the same price as the mediatrix and most other 4 FXO gateways. The sipura's don't do thinks like echo cancellation, snmp, radius accounting, failover. Which are all important for a more business oriented offering. I will also be needing several of these so trying to manage tons of little sipura everywhere would quickly cause me to lose my hair trying to keep track of them all.
But for areas where only 1 line is needed they are a good option. Some of this is for implementing in area's where GSM isn't available, otherwise those would also be good options. They have a variety of other models as I believe they use a modular setup for their products. I have tried the SPA3000 and for a hack job little unit it doesn't do to badly but I need a little bit more line concentration. I'm really looking to test a vega as I took a good look at the documentation and it seems like quite a powerful unit. It also has 128ms of echo can. People on the list might be interested in the documentation link I got from the vegastream sales rep. www.vegaassist.com username=docsonly password=freedocs Thanks John ________________________________________ From: David Cook [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] Sent: Thursday, February 16, 2006 9:37 PM To: John Cianfarani; [email protected] Subject: RE: [on-asterisk] Analog Gateways I've heard the ugly stories about the Mediatrix 1204 as well, but I have also seen (heard) them working and the audio quality is _very_ good. Personally, I'm going to give the Sangoma a200d a shot. If it doesn't cut it I'm going right to Mediatrix and laying down my $$$. Sangoma has a good rep and the card has 128ms or echo can. Most of the other adapters I have tried (x100P, SPA-3000, TDM4xx) were all pretty dismal in that regard. dbc. -----Original Message----- From: John Cianfarani [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] Sent: Thursday, February 16, 2006 3:19 PM To: [email protected] Subject: [on-asterisk] Analog Gateways Anyone have a recommendation for Analog Gateways for approx 4-8 ports? I was looking at the Vegastream 50 4fxo (which I actually tried ordered from Voipsupply and it turned into a 3 month headache). Anyone know where I could source one of these locally? I also briefly looked at the meditrix but I've heard some ugly stories with them charging persoftware version and It being completely snmp based.
