I'm in to contribute. Not sure how many will.
Budget looks like a firm 300, plus a few other incidentals we're at 400
pretty quick.
So was thinking more along the line of 10-20 for people who can and
maybe even a few companies at 50 or more. I can see a business
justifying even more based on benefit they have received from Asterisk.
I know myself, if I could get a receipt could justify more then 50.
So to put my money where my mouth is, I'm in for 50, or 100 if I can
write a business cheq and get a receipt.

I'd be willing to bet that we'd all chip in $5.00 or so at the next
meeting,
even if we were not going to attend, as ultimately it benefits the whole
group. Much easier to collect $5.00 from each group member than having a
couple of people footing the bill. In fact I would gladly pay some
sort of
dues each month for just this sort of thing, Mark.

I'd be happy to make a financial contribution to help with some of
the costs involved. With regards to volunteering, I'd volunteer in a
heart beat - but there is no guarantee whether or not I will be in
town at the date. I'll only know about 3 or 4 days prior to the expo
whether or not I'll be in town.
I anticipate others are also willing to make some financial
contribution to help with the expenses involved.
Cheers!
Reza.

Has my enthusiasm gotten out of hand? Maybe.
Hot on the tails of VON, we have the opportunity to get a booth at
LinuxWorld for the group. John Van Ostrand's been hard at work, and has
helped arrange things for us.
What we'd get:
- Free access to the exibits for our members
- A 10x10 booth on the exhibit floor
- Access to hold a meeting onsite
- Great community exposure ;-)
There are some costs, the only one I think we'd really like is
power; we
could bring the other stuff ourselves:
- 800Watt 120v service (aprox 6 am) (if ordered by Apr3) $103
- Draped table 6' $68
- carpet 10x10 $134
Things we need:
- Volunteers to staff the booth from Mon April 24th - Wed April 26th
(actually, it might open on Tuesday, the website is a bit unclear)
- Handouts summarising our "mission", and future events (this would be
good for VON too)
- Banner (Staples can do them fairly cheaply)
- Some stuff to showcase how cool Asterisk is
Please email me directly ASAP if you're interested in volunteering some
time so that I can guage whether there's a good level of interest.
Cheers,
Simon P. Ditner
