Bruce,

The Asterisk Management Portal will never synch changes that are made
manually in the config files. It's not designed that way. AMP stores all
of its values in a MySQL database. Every time you make a change using
the web GUI, the new values are updated or inserted into the database,
and the .conf files are destroyed and written out again from the values
stored in the database. However, AMP will never touch the
xxxx_custom.conf files. So if you want to dive into some manual config
editing, you can do it in those files. That being said, none of the
changes you make in the custom files will ever show up in the GUI. It's
AMP's way of protecting the data (not to mention the speed increase the
GUI sees from not having to read and parse a dozen config files for
every page you load).

Subject: [on-asterisk] 300 voip projects

Hello,

Fellows, I have to admit that since last month, when I was first told
how to get Asterisk and use it, I have been finding tons and tons of new
things in Asterisk.
I have learned how to install [EMAIL PROTECTED] and configure it. I tried
A2billing with it.
However, a2billing is full of problems.

I checked sourceforge voip projects and browsed through 300 of projects.

There are many more add-ons to core Asterisk such as:

Web management:
AMP
ACaMI
Callware VoiceOne
AstWeb - Asterisk PBX Web Interface
Asterisk Realtime Web Configuration
Ampersand

Full systems:
ST-PBX Live
[EMAIL PROTECTED]
MyAsterisk

Enhancers:
Enhance Me - Asterisk Addons
AsterOID
Ruby Asterisk Gateway Interface

Billing:
*starShop - Call Shop Billing Software
Astbill
A2billing

Unknown to me:
Asterisk SCCP channel driver
JAsterisk

I have only test [EMAIL PROTECTED] so far.

1- I really want to know what you guys use. Do you use any of these GUI
helpers or do you use your own house-made system; or you guys just like
to use dry (apologies) linux environment and no GUI.I am at a level that
I would like to use Asterisk for production.

2- I would like to know if you guys used any of the above billing or web
management solutions and which one you thought was the best. Specially
Full systems, Billing, and Web managements that I mentioned above.

I like a graphic interface rather than going through .config files.
Although, I don't mind to do linux every once in a while. though, there
is a problem with partial webmanagement; e.g. AMP in [EMAIL PROTECTED] never
synchronizes with some of the changes in .config files; For example,
making new trunks or extension

I would like to thank you for previous feedback and I appreciate you
further help. Your comments will really help me move to next level.

Regards,
Bruce
