That might be better than using the Digium logo (although it'd be nice if they let us use it) Perhaps what they need to do is have a logo that all the TAUGs can use. Betcha their lawyers would have a tough time agreeing to such a thing. > On the conference call, we spoke about having one of the > panes as a mini whiteboard, think we could fit that in? Or > maybe a 1/2 height square? Yeah, a mini-white board would work very well. Label it "VoIP network planning area", or something equally tongue-in-cheek. > BTW -- where does the ' go in our name? I've been using > "Toronto Asterisk Users Group" on all the paperwork. There is some debate in various style guides as to how an apostrophe should be used to indicate possession in words that end with "s". There are currently two popular choices; one is to put an apostrophe after the "s", as in James' (meaning "belonging to James"), the other is to add an extra "s" after the apostrophe, as in James's. We are Asterisk users, so our group is correctly named the Users Group (if it was the "user" group, it would only represent one of us). Since the group belongs to us, it is correct to use the apostrophe to indicate possession, thus Users' is correct (or, if you'd like, Users's). To me, typing James's or Users's simply looks awkward. We don't speak it that way, so why write it so? To summarize User = One of us Users = all of us User's = This belongs to one user only Users' (or Users's) = belonging to all of us That's my style lesson for the day. For more information, consult Strunk and White's "The Elements of Style".
