This is just great Jim. I am really intrested to know about EVERYTHING you mentioned in your email.

Also, I am using 2.4GHz phones at home and the wireless router which is also at 2.4GHz doesn't respond very well. What would be the solution to that.

have a nice day,

Bruce

Sitting in my basement, contemplating the improving weather, I start looking
more often at my back deck and counting the many ways to pack up my office
and bring it out there.

One of the options, of course, is to go wireless. Thing is, there's more to
wireless than just a lack of cables.

Something I would love to have somone deliver to us is a talk on radio
theory, especially as it relates to VoIP. Items to discuss would be things
like:
- Cheap ways to get more out of your WRT (antennas, amplifiers, etc) without
frying anything
- How antennas work (orienting, upgrading, modding, etc)
- Deploying a quality WiFi VoIP network in a nasty environment (say, a steel
plant, or outdoors)
- Great bargoons on WiFi VoIP (the best, cheapest, friedliest, coolest of
the handsets, routers, cards etc)
- Legal and licensing issues (better talk about this first while the crowd
is still awake)
- Building a campus network using wireless (tying two buildings together
across a road, or park, or neighborhood)
- Stupid WiFi tricks (dial "1" to open all the garage doors on your street,
dial "2" to start your car)

Any takers?

Jim
