The easier way of doing this is just to '&' without the quotes...making it look
something like jp mentioned it ....

You can have Dial(SIP/${EXTEN}&IAX2/${EXTEN}) in the one line

But, as Michael mentioned the AMP, I just cut and pasted the dial plan it
created and my 2 extension are (SIP)4518 and IAX2 (1000) and ringall will be
the simultaneous ring......... and if no answer, it fails back on Voicemail @
extension 2842.......

This is w/ Asterisk 1.2.6 on [EMAIL PROTECTED] 2.8 Beta1

Hope that helps......

exten => 1,1,Macro(user-callerid,)

exten => 1,n,GotoIf($[${CALLERID(name):0:${LEN(${RGPREFIX})}} !=
${RGPREFIX}]?NEWPREFIX)

exten => 1,n,Set(CALLERID(name)=${CALLERID(name):${LEN(${RGPREFIX})}})

exten => 1,n(NEWPREFIX),Set(RGPREFIX=)

exten => 1,n,Set(CALLERID(name)=${RGPREFIX}${CALLERID(name)})

exten => 1,n,Set(RecordMethod=Group)

exten => 1,n,Macro(record-enable,${MACRO_EXTEN},${RecordMethod})

exten => 1,n,Set(RingGroupMethod=ringall)

exten => 1,n(DIALGRP),Macro(dial,20,${DIAL_OPTIONS},4518-1000)

exten => 1,n,Set(RingGroupMethod=)

exten => 1,n,Goto(ext-local,${VM_PREFIX}2842,1)

simultaneously.

Looks to me like a ring group. It is very easy to set it up in AMP but not sure
what the real dial plan is.

Subject: [on-asterisk] Ringing both SIP & IAX registered extension
simultaneously.

Ok Enthusiasts... I have a question. The answer might be simple but I'm just
too lazy to read the docs now given the amount of food I'm trying to digest -
as a result of the long weekend and celebrations :).

I have a scenario where there is an extension number, lets say 1000 registered
on two devices, one a SIP & the other an IAX phone. Credentials for ext 1000
are available both in IAX and SIP conf files.

Currently my dial plan is as follows:

exten => 1XXX,1,Ringing()
exten => 1XXX,2,Dial(SIP/${EXTEN},20,tr)

exten => 1XXX,3,Dial(IAX2/[EMAIL PROTECTED],20,tr)

exten => 1XXX,4,Voicemail(u${EXTEN})
exten => 1XXX,5,Hangup

Obviously from the above, it first tries to ring my SIP phone and if the SIP
phone for ext 1000 is registered it will ring for 20 seconds. If the SIP phone
is not registered, it will ring my IAX phone... etc etc etc.

What I am trying to do is have both my SIP & IAX phones ring simultaneously,
sort of like agents, except I don't want it to behave like agents.

So the question is: Is there a way to have both SIP & IAX devices ring
simultaneously within the extensions.conf directives?

Thanks!

Reza.
