Reza,

When I read your response I was sure that had to be it, since I had been
fiddling with the codecs a little while ago. So, I changed both SIP and
IAX to allow=all, but it seems to no avail. The FXS port can make calls,
but not receive them from any device (SIP, Zap or IAX). If anyone's got
any ideas, I'm open to trying anything.

Thanks,

Alex

Alex:

I have not read the verbosity you included in your post yet. However I
can tell you our experience, with regards to your issue. We faced a
exactly the same issue in the past and for us it was a combination of a
couple of things:

1. We had a combination of software & hardware phones.

2. Both software & hardware phones had different preferences of codec.

3. In the SIP and IAX conf file we had disallow=all for the codec
section.

4. We had allow=(only one of the codec)

5. We enabled ALL codecs (in the conf files) to check if the phones
worked.

6. Immediately enabling ALL codecs in both SIP * IAX, allowed us to
rectify the issue.

I'd recommend you to try this for both SIP & IAX conf files, and then
work your way through if there were certain codecs you wanted to
disallow. We concluded that it was a codec issue. We were able to
re-create the "no audio" issue.

Try this first and let us know, before some us of tries to find the
needle in the hay stack... oooops... I mean the verbosity stack ;).
It's too tempting to solve these puzzles!

Cheers!

Reza.

        Good evening group,

Was just wondering if anyone had any ideas on this issue we're
having. We've got a couple of analog phones hooked up to an FXS port on
a TDM400 card. All phones have dial tone, and can place calls without
issue. But when a call is directed to that FXS port, there is no audio
at all, even though the call between the two devices is bridged
successfully, and stays connected until one of the parties hangs up.
>From the CLI, a trace of the call looks like this (IAX2/22222 is an IAX
softphone on the system, and ZAP/4 is the FXS port on the TDM
card):......

        ......

        ......

        ......

I'm pretty lost here, and would appreciate the insight of the
gurus... If anyone has any ideas for me to try out here, let 'em fly.

        Thanks,

        Alex
