I've used it once or twice in Asterisk at home. Aside from curiosity I
used it to help diagnose a complaint of static. The internal extension
heard the static but the outside caller did not. The recording captured
it so it narrowed it down to Zaptel drivers/card.

A web front end for managing the recordings is needed. The name of each
file has a time stamp and the pair of channels involved. It should be
pretty easy to present an interface listing recordings with more user
friendly names.

Using *1 twice turns it off. With w and W in the dail command allows the
caller as well as the called party to turn on or off the recording.
There also didn't seem to be an indication that it was on or off. I
would have liked some feedback (not to the other party though.)
