Access voicemail externall

Does anybody know where I can find the parameters that govern accessing 
voicemail from an external #. When I dial my home # (416 907 XXXX) I just hit 
star when it goes to voicemail, it asks for my password, I can then listen to 
and change any of my voicemail features. My system at work won't do this, so 
something must have been changed, any ideas as to how to change it back,
