Can you clarify what you mean by DID to loopstart conversion? As far as
I'm aware these are two completely different concepts.

Asterisk has always supported the low-end well. That is after all the
entire reason it was created so I'm confused why you need converters
etc. and why standard digium or sangoma FXO cards won't work for you?
