Any regular Bell PSTN lines I have used have had supervised disconnect (battery drop). Centrex may be different, this is true. Short of setting some ungodly-high AbsoluteTimeout, you may be stuck. I'd be nice to have a utility that would monitor for silence, a dialtone or the really annoying loud beeping that the telco uses to wake you up, and after 60 seconds of any of this, soft hangup... But really the nicest thing would be to get supervised disconnect working. :-) -A.
