Richard,

I've been thinking about doing that for the last little while, since I have
some family using skype The solutions are out there but they all seem to
require the skype software phone to be running either on a linux or a windows
computer. The additonal software that glues sip (connected to asterisk) and
the skype software, and takes over control of the skype application. Some
examples: uplink - http://nch.com.au/skypetosip/index.html, psgw -
http://www.rdevs.com/psgw_linux.shtml.

The other option is to purchase a skype to telephone adapter and then buy an
fxs adapter and configure it for your asterisk server.

Neither option seems to be ideal in my opinion.

This is all thanks to the fact that the skype protocol is not a standard but is
stictly proprietary.

Would you share your comments and possibly your solution(s)
