If you do: hdparm -v /dev/<drive> (should be something like hda1 or sda1)
what does it show for the using_dma setting? Using the same tool you should be able to force DMA on. I think it's the -d flag. The motherboard has a VIA chipset and I don't seem to be able to turn DMA on manually. Is this a known problem and a failure to spec the right motherboard for Trixbox 1.2.3?
