At first congratulations!

" Do I need to buy the digium card or can I buy the SPA 3102 since that fits my
budget and can I have it supply dial tone to all my Jacks in the house? "
Technical answer to your question is Yes. SPA3102 will do the job.

" I also have a home alarm system and I wonder if that will work with the SPA
3102 ATA. "
The tech answer again is yes. Make sure you do some testing to ensure it
works properly. Since its home alarm for security ... so you want to ensure
that your "security" system is secured well.

" Also if anyone knows of a VOIP provider that offers unlimited channels for
outgoing calls for a reasonable fee? "
No such thing as "unlimited channels" for a reasonable fee, unless you define
what is reasonable :).

Essentially what the VOIP providers are doing is purchasing their own T1 or
multiple T1 connections -- and selling you a service. If you want guaranteed
23 channels of traffic, you need to invest behind a Virtual T1 or a Physical
T1. Average cost for what you are looking for is $450-$650 for a virtual T1
depending on your requirements. For a physical T1 depending on location you
are looking at $650-$1,500 depending on location.

Last but not least, if you succeeded in getting Asterisk up and running and
connecting with VBuzzer in 24-48 hrs ... then you are a more advanced user
with intermediate to advanced knowledge in Linux. You should not have a
problem with Asterisk at all. But if you are using one of those GUI platforms
such as TrixBox... you are missing out on the TRUE capabilities of Asterisk :).

Cheers!
Reza.
