I've been using the E71 for a week now and I have to say I'm really impressed. I've been using Blackberrys since 7780 and have tried few WinMo and Palm devices in between with disappointment. E71 is my first S60 device and i like it so far.
On my brand new battery I've been able to have a 2hour conversation and the battery still had 2 blocks left. I keep the WiFi on all the time and charge the phone overnight. I also got a car charger so the battery won't be an issue. The SIP client is very stable for me and I'd recommend it to anyone.
