Its really not about what is a good idea and what is not. Its more about keeping the customer happy and making your systems compatible with others. There are several proprietary systems out there that run SIP over TCP. Not saying its a good idea, but the reality is that some corporations and businesses use it and they will not part with it.
Also Asterisk 1.6 supports SIP over TCP. They made SIP over TCP available because it was one of the major requests from end users. Thanks and regards, Reza.
