I thought that Toronto Hydro sold that business - the infrastructure is still there, but run by someone else.

Thanks Dave. Beanfield doesn't do off-net and are limited to downtown core.
I didn't know Toronto Hydro Telecom are still in internet business. I will
be in touch to see. Are there any other suggestions? Strictly fiber please.

Hi Bruce,

Several years ago I hooked up a client at Yonge/Empress with a fiber
service. The ISP was Cogent, but the infrastructure was Toronto Hydro
Telecom. It was only used for a couple of years and we didn't push it very
hard but I don't remember any problems. See what Hydro can offer you. I
know my example just _barely_ meets your requirement of being north of the
401. :-)

A friend of mine just got his company hooked up with Beanfield and he's
clicking his heals happy. I know their focus is more toward downtown, but
it might be worth a try, especially if you're not too far off Yonge street
where they'd be most likely to have a POP nearby.

Hope that helps,
Dave

Hi everyone,

Do you have any recommendation to fiber optic providers for north of 401
but below Richmond Hill in Toronto?

Staying away from big five.

Thanks,
Bruce
