I just installed the 1.0.1 release and configured it. For the most part,
it seems an improvement over the Beta6 I had before, but in one respect,
it fails miserably: The audio quality for all IVR prompts, as well as VM
playback, is so poor it's unusable. The audio plays back
E-X-T-R-E-M-E-L-Y slow, and chopped up, kinda like a '60s druggie on
quaaludes with a bad stutter. The playback rate is about 1/4 of what I'd
expect, and the stutter is about 4/sec. One has to listen very carefully
to be able to make out anything at all.
I had initially installed from the Beta4 iso, and had regularly updated
it, with no adverse effects (and no obvious improvements along the way,
either). When the 1.0 release came out, I attempted the manual upgrade
using conary that was published on the blog (node/48450), but several of
those steps didn't appear to execute cleanly, so when the 1.0.1 iso came
out, I decided to do a clean install, but that resulted in a almost
unusable system. I have a phone that can make and receive calls, but I
can't use any of the asterisk features that require voice prompts of any
kind.
Any idea where to go from here?
