Thanks Kristian,
I'm doing some tests on the buildroot environment, trying to build my
own image. For now without adding vISDN, just trying to obtain a soekris
net4801 image (please note it's the first time I use astlinux and
buildroot). I obtained a rootfs tar image from your astlinux.config,
then I untarred this image on a compact flash and with grub I tried:
grub> device (hd0) /dev/sda
grub> root (hd0,0)
Filesystem type is ext2fs, partition type 0x83
grub> setup (hd0)
Checking if "/boot/grub/stage1" exists... yes
Checking if "/boot/grub/stage2" exists... yes
Checking if "/boot/grub/e2fs_stage1_5" exists... yes
Running "embed /boot/grub/e2fs_stage1_5 (hd0)"... 16 sectors are
embedded.
succeeded
Running "install /boot/grub/stage1 (hd0) (hd0)1+16 p
(hd0,0)/boot/grub/stage2 /boot/grub/grub.conf"... succeeded
Done.
It seems to work, but when booting on soekris it shows a line of
"*********" as grub menu was appearing but then it hangs.
I also tried to extract a rootfs from you pre-built soekris image and
re-setup grub with your rootfs.
It still hangs... so I think it should be a grub-related problem.
Am I doing some mistakes?
Thank you very much!
Massimo
PS. On the other side I'm looking at setting up vISDN package structure
for inclusion.

Hi all,
I'd like to integrate vISDN (http://www.visdn.org/) support in Astlinux.
vISDN protocol implementation has been certified by Telecom Italia Labs,
according to TBR3 requirements. It has been developed to fully support
EuroISDN protocol with HFC based cards: HFC-S PCI, HFC-4S and HFC-8S
(with HFC-E1 and HFC-S USB support coming soon).
This architecture also support our new VoiSmart QuadGSM PCI board.
I' trying to understand the astlinux development environment I get from
http://svn.astlinux.org/astlinux/trunk astlinux-dev
but I didn't find any docs about adding kernel modules and other stuff.
On voip-info.org I found some info, but are these related to the svn
version on development environment?
I know it could be a boring question but I'd like some suggestions.
To compile vISDN I should add some kernel modules, Asterisk channel
driver and some userland stuff.
Any hints??
Thanks,
Massimo
Massimo,
This sounds good.
There isn't much documentation on how to add kernel modules. Your best
bet is to look in the package/ subdir until you find something that
resembles what you need to do. Zaptel, for instance, builds kernel
modules. You may want to start there.
If you have specific questions we will be happy to help.
