noteworthy:

It helps to run genkd /dev/***1, in other words specify exactly what
device you want to use.

Hopefully everybody understands all the device ID's and if not, no
time like the present. This will also help incase you need to modify
the boot menu.(remount flash as RW, vi /boot/grub/menu.lst to have the
option that you need.)
