I'm not sure of what two cents I should add here. voip-info.org is

additionally, once you understand the dialplan of asterisk, the sky is
the limit. It's really only limited by the complexity of your mind or
the neatness of your pencil. I suggest making a diagram to get started
but it's really quite simple. If by chance you need to brush up on the
dialplan either run out and buy Asterisk, the future of telephony or
find it for download. Another slick read is VOIP hacks where our very
own Mr. Kielhofner was able to include some interesting dialplan
issue. I think the voicemail server in under a half hour is my
favorite section! If you're interested in asterisk and you're this
far, I have no doubts you will find the solutions to your problems.

However, I must pass on the ISDN question...not in the arena of things
that I have touched.
