Hi, I set the 'EST5EDT' line in /etc/TZ and verified that the 'date' command reports the time correctly for my time zone (US Eastern). But I have been unsuccessful in getting the voicemail envelope announcement to announce the correct time for my messages. The vm timestamp is always 4 hours ahead of EDT.
In voicemail.conf, the [zonemessages] entry is: "eastern=America/New_York|'vm-received' Q 'digits/at' IMp" and "tz=eastern" on the appropriate line under [default] My understanding is that uClibc (in AstLinux) does not use the settings in /usr/share/zoneinfo at all and thus this directory seems to be missing; thus, the timezone info in [zonemessages] is quite useless, as it cannot adjust the time to the requested timezone. If that is the case, then my questions are: (1) How do I get the vm to timestamp/report the timestamp on my messages correctly, i.e. in my timezone (EST/EDT) and, (2) If I have users in other timezones, is it possible at all to have the vm envelope timestamp information be announced to them in their local time? What am I missing here? I just can't seem to find any other way to do this. If this question has been been answered, I apologize for taking up this space - if someone could point me to the appropriate reply thread, I would be much obliged.
