Title: Message
Seth,
The changes need to be in the rc.conf
file. There is a line that controls perm ant hosts.
I had to figger this out myself as well, it was
driving me crazy when I was trying to get Astlinux setup and running for the
first time. I believe the trick is also documented in Question #3 in the
Astlinux faq at
the voip-info.org wiki
While we're on the topic, does anyone know how
to get modifications to /etc/hosts to stick across reboots? I have
not been able to figure this one out.

I stumbled on the
same issue just a few days ago … use the following command to “remount” in
read/write …
mount –o rw,remount

Once system is in
RW mode, you can edit the rc.conf file and have your changes active on next
boot …
I got so frustrated
I put a copy of my modified rc.conf file in the /stat/ect folder also … not
sure it this helped or hurt but in the end I got my mods to take by doing
these two things …

I have astlinux running on a VIA M1000, with CF as
boot and USB as Keydisk.
I have a TDM400P card for fxs and fxo, I
know how to get this working in a normal linux config.
Under Astlinux
I have no clue, I know I need to config Zaptel and load it, and then load
the wdcm module.
Everything is read-only, the zaptel and wdm stuff
just doesnt seem to be there.
Help would be
great.
Thanks,
John
