Hi, I have two identical-twin Soekris boxes, one with 0.3.0 and one with 0.4.2.
How does the execution speed compare between the two? As a practical test I ran a Caller*ID City,State lookup I wrote in bash, mostly using sed (busybox) for the heavy lifting. The script looks in 1 of 80 files to match the first 6 digits of a 10 digit NANPA phone number, yielding the city and state. # for 24 number lookups on # AstLinux 0.3.0 Soekris (Glibc based) $ time ./test ... output ... real 0m 8.04s user 0m 1.88s sys 0m 1.81s # for 24 number lookups on # AstLinux 0.4.2 Soekris (uClibc based) $ time ./test ... output ... real 0m5.114s user 0m2.960s sys 0m2.073s So, 0.4.2 is 5.1 seconds vs. 8.0 seconds for 0.3.0. So, 0.4.2 is 36% (1.57 times) faster than 0.3.0. Nice work Kristian!
