Really....hmmmm....I've been using an old Speedstream DSL modem for the
past few years. Got it from Earthlink's DSL after they transitioned me
off the Sprint ION service. It seems better than the Netopia or XyZel
stuff that Covad insisted I buy form them. I despise combined DSL
model/routers.

Man, do I miss ION! Truly unified service...built-in battery backup, 4
POTS lines, unlimited long distance and 2 fixed IP with 6 mbps DSL on
one bill.....all for $149/mo in 2002. When they killed that service
they had to buy out my 2 year contact. They actually paid me more than
I had paid them for a years service!

What would the real benefit be if I were to shift from Speedstream +
m0n0wall + Astlinux?
