My laptop has an Intel 2915 in it, so I have gone through this before...
From what I can remember of that process, the main impediments with
getting your 2200 to work with AstLinux will be:
1) Firmware - you already took care of that (sort of)
2) Hotplug. If I remember correctly, the firmware is actually loaded
via hotplug, which AstLinux does not currently have. Hotplug is kind of
a PIA and I'd rather not have to add it just for Intel Wireless
support... :)

I'll boot 0.4.3 on my laptop and see if I can make it work somehow.
These are good cards and they deserve to be supported!
