This is possible, but it does limit your choices when upgrading.  You 
would need to currently use the 'astup' script or backup your keydisk 
and re-create it.  There are plans in the works for a better upgrade 
mechanism, but I would currently recommend separate storage devices (one 
for the OS, one for the keydisk).
