Joshua,

        The codec isn't working because it it not compiled for uclibc (the C 
library AstLinux uses).  You need to recompile the codec, but you can't 
do it on AstLinux because AstLinux does not include a compiler (as you 
have discovered).  You can use the AstLinux development environment on 
your host system to cross-compile the codec for AstLinux.

        I can help you compile it, but I can't do it for you.  I am not 
interested in all of the political and legal issues that can arise from 
using that code.

        Also, Digium has graciously compiled their fully legal codec for 
AstLinux.  It is available in recent versions of AstLinux and only 
requires you to purchase a few simultaneous channels.
