I qualify in all respects except that php code looks like
Greek to me ...
I do have a test bench Astlinux setup that I can destroy
and put back together without causing any harm to anyone ... and if there are
reasonable instruction on what to do with it once I get the tarball un-tarred I
suspect I am competent to get it working ... but I might be a better test
subject for the next round when you have added eyeliner and a little blush to
the pig ... but do keep me in mind as I am interested in seeing this piece
work and am willing to help in whatever limited way I can
...

Subject: [Astlinux-users] Messenger-VM in Alpha stage
A few days ago, I committed to releasing a php based web voicemail system. It is now ready to enter Alpha testing- meaning that, I've delinted and deloused, applied licensing and copyright (relax, it's GPL!?), but need feedback from some folks before I release it for general consumption. Assuming I get a few more minutes today to touch up the pig's lipstick, I should be able to email it out to folks tomorrow.
If you are willing to test it, and have the ability to read php code, and have a machine you're not worried about the security of (no, I don't broadcast your IP or open a VPN tunnel, but it does require a web server instance to run with enough authority to read your voicemail files- root, if you haven't messed with the defaults), then please drop me a note offlist, and I'll ship you a tarball tomorrow. It's about a dozen files, including the small image files, and not large- it should fit nicely in whatever email account you prefer.
Don't feel left out if I don't respond- this is going to be a careful, limited release at first- once I get the initial feedback, I'll be releasing it for a more public beta soon. Please don't contact me if you're not at least passingly comfortable in php, as I expect the alpha testers to dig in a little deeper than the average user.
