I also found that it would not run correctly with
IE7, but am not having any issues with FireFox 2.0...

your information New AsteriskGUIAsterisk 1.4 is required
point your browser to :http://<ip of asterisk
machine>:8088/static/config/cfgbasic.html
Or in the httpd.conf if
you have "prefix" uncommented then you will
need....ip:8088/asterisk/static/config/cfgbasic.html
in manager.conf
your user needs to have read/write permissions to the "config" variable as
well.. so your line may look like
read = abc, def, ghi, you need to make
sure that "config" is also a part of that i.e. read =
abc,def,ghi,config write = <same>.....,config
However, mine
caused a segfault in the asterisk system when i went to poll for information
so i am steering clear for a little while. HTH

I tried
to get this running on a fresh install on Vmware. There is not much
documentation. I configured the manager.conf. and http.conf files as
per the asterisk-gui readme. I have Asterisk 1.4 running with CLI
access. I also have httpd running. Everything is running but the
GUI does not come up at the link given after I ran a "check
makeconfig". What am I missing. Maybe permission
problem?

I like the interface. What do the resulting config files
look like?
