You cannot use voicemail + g729 in pass thru. pass thru means no transcoding "at all". asterisk voicemail operates via slin codec, so when you have a phone in g729 the asterisk box needs to transcode from g729-to-slin-back-to-g729.
you need to install g729 as a codec in asterisk.
