a fax machine? good luck! the damn thing is the worst thing I've ever
tried to setup on an asterisk box. I finally gave up and installed
spandsp RxFax support to receive-only fax.

To pass fax up, although I could try iaxmodem plus hylafax, it won't fit
here because most fax machines in Brazil are by hand, meaning you call,
a person answer and you ask the fax signal and the person give it to you

If any of you have a solution for this, I really wish to know

My tests were with a GS HT286, because I was told it had the best legacy
modem support out there (not using T48, I mean, which asterisk doesn't
have yet). Since then I've read that old Cisco ATA186 would behave
better but after weeks trying, I simply gave up and send the scans
through email instead of faxing up.

Sorry for my very bad english,

Bruno
