OK,

I checked again at Soekris web site and it seems to be
a known bug with some of the DP88315 ethernet
controller chips. They have there a driver fix for
that problem just that it seems to be for 2.4X kernel
while we use 2.6X..
I'll check with them once they are available. Anyway
the problem and fix is described in the following
