Jonathan, Sounds like you need to do an svn update to get the latest updates. I'd also do an rm -rf on your build_i586 directory. I don't know what stopped the compilation, but nothing should have. Both trunk and 0.5 compile completely on a clean system that doesn't have non-standard packages checked.
