The purpose of the astlinux.config is to have a known good starting 
point.  The packages selected in there are what gets built into the 
standard images.  The purpose is to copy astlinux.config to .config, 
then do a make oldconfig, followed by a make menuconfig...

There is some older documentation on the voip-info wiki.  Documentation 
unfortunately is something that tends to lag behind.

Use the defaults from astlinux.config.  Once that works, add packages 
from there.  Make sure that everything is clean.  Do an rm -rf on the 
toolchain_build_i586 and build_i586 directories.  Do svn update, then 
start over using the astlinux.config for your starting point.

I use CentOS5 or Fedora 8 for my builds.  If you have documented which 
specific packages are needed and want to put that together, it would be 
helpful to some people.
