Should I be using a web interface to operate my astlinux? I have just been
shelling in and VI'ing or Nano-ing the rc.conf file and just using the gui
for asterisk but not for astlinux maint...

Actually, using /mnt/kd/rc.conf.d/*.conf is a step in that direction.

In that case, if a new variable is added to /stat/etc/rc.conf, it will  
automatically be added to the system /tmp/etc/rc.conf before any  
settings in the /mnt/kd/rc.conf.d/*.conf are applied.

With this in mind, I should add /stat/etc/rc.conf to the altweb's  
System tab "View Selected File" list, as this will be the current,  
fully commented system variable reference.
