Darrick,

Prior to adding the lines in astlinux*run.conf, typing findfs LABEL=ASTURW came
back unknown.

I had a look at mount as well, and checked with post "Re: [Astlinux-users]
Cannot change root password (Was: How to use keydisk with UnionFS)"

And was getting the same error as this;

rootfs on / type rootfs (rw)
/dev/root on /oldroot type ext2 (rw)
/dev/hda1 on /oldroot/cdrom type vfat
(ro,fmask=002,dmask=0022,codepage=cp437,ocharset=iso8859-1)
none on / type tmpfs (ro)
none on /proc type proc (rw)
none on /dev type tmpfs (rw)
none on /var type tmpfs (rw)
none on /sys type sysfs (rw)
usbfs on /proc/bus/usb type usbfs (rw)
none on /dev/pts type devpts (rw)
none on /proc/sys/fs/binfmt_misc type binfmt_misc (rw)

Btw, I ran genkd /dev/hdc2 to generate my keydisk.

Cheers,
Clara

Clara,

As long as you followed along and let genunion (and optionally genkd)
create the file systems, you can safely leave 'asturw=auto'. If you HAD
a key disk at one time, but no longer wish to use a separate key disk,
you can manually change the file system label on that partition.

First, run 'findfs LABEL=ASTKD' to determine if a key disk partition is
found. If something is given (/dev/hda3 for example), you can use
e2label to change that value to something else. 'e2label /dev/foo newlabel'

It sounds like you have a keydisk operational and NOT unionfs, at least
based on what you're saying about password changes.

Please type 'findfs LABEL=ASTURW' and 'findfs LABEL=ASTKD' then report
back what you see.

On one of my boxes, I see this:

pbx ~ # findfs LABEL=ASTURW
/dev/hda2
