Darrick, Thanks for your advice on my HP T5700 issue -- I added a rootdelay=10 in the .run.conf file on my USB stick and the result was:
sda: 0:0:0:0 Attached scsi removable disk sda RAMDISK: Compressed image found at block 0 VFS: Mounted root (ext2 filesystem). Freeing unused kernel memory: 172k freed Kernel panic - not syncing: Attempted to kill init! USB controller/Kernel issue? This is the result for booting off an external USB stick w/ the 0.6.1 img flashed. The Kernel appears to be having issues with externally mounted USB disk devices. As I mentioned the strange thing is that if I flash the standard equipment 256MB internal IDE DOM "Drive" (/dev/hda) w/ 0.6 and rewrite the /os directory using/under DSL the system boots 0.6 normally under Astlinux. But you have to rewrite it first. The stock file system dd'd from the .img file will not work. The internal DOM Flash drive behaves exactly like the external USB stick. This is not the same behavior as under 0.4.8.. Anyway I have a work- around but am curious as to root cause. -Brian Barr > > Message: 4 > Date: Sat, 01 Nov 2008 11:16:39 -0500 > From: Darrick Hartman <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> > Subject: Re: [Astlinux-users] HP T5700 Thinclient issues with > Installing Astlinux 0.6 > To: AstLinux Users Mailing List <astlinux-users@lists.sourceforge.net> > Message-ID: <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> > Content-Type: text/plain; charset=ISO-8859-1; format=flowed > > Brian, > > I'm assuming sda is the usb stick?
