I use an Alix 2c3 with astlinux which is very similar to your 2d2.  I use
the geni586-serial version of astlinux and it works well. I do a custom
build from trunk (soon to be version 0.7) so that I can exclude stuff that I
don't use (like wifi and isdn support). But you could just as easily use the
0.6.6 pre-built images.
Be aware that there is a stability problem on the 0.6.x branch associated
with using the asterisk-gui and/or system() calls in your dialplan on
certain hardware.  The 2c3 suffers from it. I don't know if the 2d2 will or
not.  The problem is solved in the trunk/0.7 branch.
