My apologies to the board, but I have searched the forums and read the
documentation. I've just downloaded AstLinux 0.72 and am anxious to get it
working, however have run into a couple of problems.

First, I'm using a Jetway mini-ITX board (J7F4K1G2E); this is based on the
VIA CN700. I'm using the VIA C7 image and have managed to get AstLinux to
boot. However, it does not look like either of the GigE ports are
recognized.

After booting the board, I plugged in my USB key and issued the genkd
command, then rebooted. I looked at /etc/rc.conf, but it says that it is
auto-generated and should not be edited. Instead, I remounted / and tried
commenting out/un-commenting the Realtek 8169 drivers in /etc/rc.modules. On
reboot, /etc/rc.modules had reverted to its original.

I think I am missing some basics with AstLinux. Any thoughts on how to load
the drivers?

thanks,
  Shamus
