I use LOTS of mitel phones everyday.. not sure on the 5240... however if it is going to have SIP.. do the following:
Some phones have different power up procedures... Try holding down the blue superkey while powering up the phone.. scroll through the menu and see if any option is for change phone mode.. Also trying holding down the # key or the * key while powering up.. all these give you different options with changing the phone mode.. What you are looking t odo is change the mode from MiNet to SIP....
