Thanks for your reply.

I used the dd command on a Linux (Ubuntu 11.10) machine.
The image is geni586 and the version is 0.7.10.

I am not sure that I understand your question whether it is mountin gor not.
I did not try to mount I only tried to boot from the SD card.

What would I need to do to try to mount it as you suggested?
